Vaper's Code of Conduct - Becoming a Gentle Vaper

Have you ever wondered if vaping has rules? I always tell people that vaping is not smoking and should not be equated with traditional cigarettes. However, not everyone understands this, especially those who do not use vaping. We cannot just go around saying ridiculously that “vaping is not smoking, vaping is safer,…”, doing so will only make the prejudice against vaping worse. We will change the way people view vaping by becoming a civilized community.
“Without rules, we're nothing but animals”, this is a line I find quite good in the movie John Wick. Every game needs rules and so does vaping. Remember that this is not a child's toy and of course, it needs a set of rules that any vaper should remember.

1. Do not vape without the consent of those around you.

It is true that vaping is not harmful to passive smokers, but vaping can still be annoying. Just like you shouldn’t touch someone’s phone without their permission. Ask people around you if they would mind if you vaped in the room, it doesn’t hurt anything. Some places have no smoking signs but you can still vape, such as some cafes or pubs, so ask the staff before you smoke.
One more thing, absolutely! absolutely no vaping in school or hospital areas, don't argue with people who remind you or you'll make a fool of yourself.

2. Don't try to hide vape smoke

If you want to vape, do it properly. Taking a sneaky drag on your vape, then hiding it and blowing the smoke in a hidden corner will usually get you some nasty looks. If you’re not sure if you can vape there, ask the bar or the people around you. Or just go outside and vape.

3. Do not blow smoke in other people's faces.

Of course, blowing smoke directly into someone’s face is never a polite or friendly action, unless you want to chase them away in the rudest way possible. Vaping is a hobby that brings people together, so please avoid such actions.

4. Don't bring fancy things into public places.

When vaping in public, my advice is to only bring small vape devices and juices with simple, fresh flavors. The reason for this is that you may think complex juices are delicious, but when you exhale, the scent is not very pleasant to those around you. For example, strong tobacco-flavored juices like Black Note Latakia, for example, are delicious to connoisseurs, but their breath is very unpleasant to smell. So bring simple flavors like apple, blueberry, watermelon, etc. when vaping in crowded places.

5. The game is more fun with open-minded people.

This is more of a tip than a rule. When you go to a vape group offsite, remember to bring a bottle of juice that you want to share with everyone, as well as a clean tank/pod so you can test out the flavors they offer. You know those cigar smokers? They have a saying: “I never smoked one cigar, I smoked two. One for my own and one for my good friend” I’ll leave that to you to figure out for yourself. The point is, it’s more fun if you have someone to share it with, right?

6. Don't discriminate against smokers

Vaping is safer than smoking, but that doesn’t mean vapers have the right to look down on smokers. Although this is not very common, there is a large number of young vapers who are starting to discriminate against traditional cigarette smokers. Everyone has their own choice, if you want to change their habits for good, discrimination and attacks are never a wise choice. Explain to them the benefits of switching to vaping and I believe they will understand if your intentions come from a place of concern.

7. Be knowledgeable and willing to share

This is perhaps a little more complicated than the basic rules above, but I think it is the most important thing a vaper needs to do. For me, a “model” person is someone who knows the information about the issue they are debating and is willing to explain politely to convince others. The same goes for a vaper, you don’t need to understand the ins and outs of vaping, just understand the basics and always keep a cool head during debates. If someone says that vaping is toxic, vaping is bad, don’t get all worked up and scold them, just tell them that there are many reputable studies and you are willing to explain them politely.

“Don’t try to force smokers to switch to vaping, if they want to, they will ask. Of course when they ask you, explain to them as objectively as possible, as well as your own story with vaping.”

8. Don't vape if you've never smoked

Vaping is a quit smoking tool and should only be used by ex-smokers who are looking for an effective way to quit. Inhaling anything other than oxygen into your lungs is never good and neither is vaping. If you have never smoked, then there is no reason to vape, please do not tarnish the image of vaping in the eyes of the community.
