Choose the right essential oil for your burner

Many people have asked the question: “What essential oil is suitable for my burner?”.

And they can only answer: “It depends...”

Don’t get us wrong, we try to be as informative as possible. But when it comes to mixing essential oils with a diffuser , there are so many things to consider, so many personal preferences to take into account, that it’s hard to come up with the “right” answer.

However, we can still give you some suggestions for you to refer to when choosing essential oils for your burner to make you feel most satisfied. Let's get started.

What do you want from your vape device?

Building the ideal vape device is like buying a new car, your decisions about the various components will dictate your intended use. For example, one can tell the difference between a Bentley and a Kia, and both can take you anywhere on the weekend.

Vaping is similar. Essentially, all e-cigarettes, regardless of shape, size, or brand, consist of a heating element, an atomizer, and e-liquid. From a grocery store Cig-a-like to a modern 4-pin box mod , they all work in the same way. The difference is in the experiences each type of device can provide you.

For vapers who used to smoke, or those who still enjoy the feeling of smoking, there is no need for a box mod to play with smoke or a thick e-liquid containing all VG.

On the other hand, vapers who like to play with smoke and don't care much about nicotine or throat hit will definitely not like narrow single-coil atomizers and all-PG e-liquid. They still vape, just not finding the satisfaction they want.

Let's dig a little deeper.

About the device

We won’t be going into the differences between atomizers in this article, as there are too many to mention. For the purposes of this article, we’ll limit ourselves to just two types of tanks, MTL and Sub Ohm tanks, as they typically come with pre-made coils and an empty tank that you need to fill with e-juice.

MTL Tank

Designed to give a feeling close to smoking

Use pre-built coil

Has a sealed air vent system and essential oil vents

Suitable for thin PG essential oils with high nicotine content

Sub Ohm Tank

Can use coils with resistance lower than 1.0 ohm

Has a wider essential oil system

Adjustable air vent width

Designed for powerful hits and vapor production

Requires high power and consumes more essential oil

About essential oils

If choosing a burner is like choosing spare parts for a motorbike, then essential oil is the motorbike oil. In an engine, the stronger the operation, the more heat will be generated, in return, it will need a more viscous oil. But if you only need a strong enough engine to go around the city, you need to reconsider, high viscosity engine oil can cause blockage of the engine's operation.

MTL vapes are typically enjoyed at low temperatures, so MTL tanks don’t require a constant flow of e-liquid to keep the cotton wet. Using a thin e-liquid with a high PG ratio can help these tanks maximize their throat hit, nicotine, and e-liquid flavor.

In theory, VG e-liquid can also be used in MTL tanks, but that doesn't mean you should. The narrow e-liquid passages of MTL tanks cannot carry thick e-liquid like VG in time to saturate the cotton with each use, which will lead to burnt cotton and coil.

Sub Ohm focuses more on satisfying cloud chasers, so it needs high VG e-liquid and high power machine. With a large e-liquid system, it can help the high VG e-liquid easily soak the cotton, which can lead to extremely beautiful clouds of smoke.

The downside of Sub Ohm vaping? Your e-liquid will run out quickly and need to be replenished frequently.

Do you want your tank to be airy or airtight?

For vapers, closing or opening the airflow can also change the experience for each person. Many people believe that with a sealed atomizer, they can taste the flavor of the e-liquid better.

This is one of the reasons why adjustable airflow has become the norm for most atomizers on the market. Having adjustable airflow allows vapers to tailor their vape to their exact needs based on the type of e-liquid they use and the wattage they use.

Conclude

Ultimately, if your vape kit leaves you satisfied enough with what it offers, then you definitely got what you needed.

Vaping is always about personal preference. In the ever-evolving world of vaping, there is little to no “right” or “wrong” definition, just whether you like it or not.
