They are cloud chasers, flavor chasers, builders, trickers, mixers, DIYers, newbies and many more. We are talking about female vapers, and they are becoming a very important part of the vaping market.
Because the media is so heavily focused on male advertising, people often forget that over half of the vaping population is female. And they’re not just the pretty models you see on magazine covers or in ads, the vaping community is full of regular girls from all walks of life.
These women help create a larger community that supports more women in finding effective ways to quit smoking. As e-cigarette companies recognize the clear divide in their customer base, they expand their product lines to include more options and styles.
“The days of just having boring and bland products are over.”
This is also good news, because a more fragmented market means more people will discover the benefits and fun of vaping. After all, smoking affects and damages the health of both men and women.
Women become “stars” in the vape world
Initially, the vaping community was predominantly male, but each year more and more women are switching to vaping. Furthermore, women have stepped up to become leaders, business owners, and have made a certain impact on the entire industry.
Last year, to celebrate successful female vapers, Zamplebox profiled several successful women in the e-cigarette industry, including business owner Andrea Mc-Donald Hendricks and Instagram influencer Kylee Brehm.
Andrea McDonald-Hendricks owns Vapor Café in Tacoma, Washington with her husband. She is the owner, head blender, and creator of the brand’s signature e-liquid line.
MacDonald-Hendricks is dedicated to helping others with her work, working in the healthcare industry as a dental hygienist and getting into the vaping industry because, well, who could pass up a job that could help others?
Why do you vape? « I vape because I want to live. »
On the other side of the vape market, Kylee Brehm does something completely different. She runs a popular Instagram account and YouTube channel, where she posts vape product reviews, trick videos, and tutorials.
She is sponsored by several e-cigarette and e-liquid brands, including Five Star, Serranovape, and Fumivapor. She is a popular and influential trickster, living proof that women are just as interested in vaping and can trick as well as men.
There are many women who are getting into vaping for many different reasons, and they are all trying to make the world a better place. Hannah Merrill, a model and vape tricker, says, “I vape for my health, for my family’s health, and to help others quit. I vape for myself, and for you.”
Making vaping more open
Many female vapers say they sometimes feel out of place in this rather masculine hobby. Some compare their problems to the problems other women face in hobbies like gaming and reading.
These problems are all due to the marketing strategies of some e-cigarette companies to promote their products. Most vape ads appeal to young men by featuring scantily clad models that other women find offensive.
There is a huge gap in the vaping market for products and marketing that appeal to female vapers, and a number of companies are trying to fill this void. Unfortunately, most attempts to create female-friendly products fall flat.
The truth is that while small, low-power devices may appeal to some women who are new to vaping, most serious vapers don’t want to go for that kind of cig-a-like. Experienced female vapers want products that are as good or better than what men are getting.
As e-cigarettes became more popular, manufacturers began to market the devices in a variety of colors and styles to suit individual preferences. This expanded the product range, making the market more appealing to women than before.
Women Finding Their Place in the Vaping Community
If you spend any time on online vaping forums and communities, you’ll notice that vapers are a friendly and enthusiastic bunch. The community is made up of people who want to quit smoking and the kind vaping enthusiasts who put a lot of time and effort into helping new vapers get on their feet.
Everyone is welcome and accepted in the vaping community. Despite the stereotypes in the media, there are plenty of women who vape and most of them have no trouble finding a friendly vaping group in their local area or online.
All female vapers come from different backgrounds, have different styles, preferences, and levels of vaping. And as vaping grows and becomes more accepted, we will see more women taking ownership and starting businesses in the e-cigarette industry.
