Do you know how to maintain a regulated box mod ? When you spend money on a vape device , you want it to last as long as possible. Every day I hear, see, and read about people complaining about how easily their device breaks. The sad thing is that 9 out of 10 reasons why a box mod stops working are easily preventable with proper care and maintenance. Take a break, relax, and take a few minutes to observe and pay attention to ensure that you can use your favorite box mod for as long as possible.
First note
Before we get into the details, I want you to remember that these little tips will not keep your box mod running forever. After all, vapes are still electronic devices, and one day they will die and stop working, and what we want to achieve here is to maximize the life of the device.
There are many reasons why a device stops working, such as a dead battery, a shorted circuit board, or one of the myriad of tiny parts that pop out of place. But make sure you don’t accidentally shorten the path to the scrap yard for your device.
Vape devices are not race cars
When was the last time you got in your car and stomped on the gas pedal for a long time before starting it? Now combine that with holding the gas pedal until it runs out of gas and you’ll see what I mean. For some reason, a lot of vapers believe that vaping low ohm coils all day long won’t do any harm to your box mod: it will just ruin it, sooner or later.
If you want to keep your device running for a long period of time, it is definitely not a good idea to run it at full power for a long time. Like a race car that is constantly being pushed, it will overheat and stop before it runs out of gas. Using a slightly higher ohm coil will reduce the stress on the circuit board and make the device last longer.
Pay more attention to the device
You might not be able to bear to put your favorite box mod down day after day, if you're like me, you might even close your eyes and paint it again.
From the first day you own your device, you know how it feels to hold it, and you know how it works, so you’ll notice any changes in how it functions. Paying attention to the little things can save you a lot of trouble down the road. For example, if you take the battery out of your device and the outer cover is torn, pay attention to what caused it. It could be that you pulled the battery out without pressing down on the spring, or the battery cover may have torn because it cut into the slide of the battery compartment. Check your device every day after use, and if something changes, you’ll know.
Clean the box mod regularly
Make sure you clean your device regularly. This may sound simple, but it’s often overlooked. Like any electronic device, your vape device will last longer if the contacts are kept clean. Every time you change the battery, take a moment to wipe down the battery area. Make sure it’s free of debris and clean out any buildup in the corners.
Electronics and water don't mix.
If you accidentally spilled Coke on your beloved iPhone, you would definitely cry and pray that it would survive the accident. Electronics and liquids of any kind are natural enemies.
If you accidentally spill e-liquid on the device, wipe it off immediately before it has a chance to flow into the 510 contact pin and onto the circuit board.
If the e-liquid has leaked into the device, turn it off, place the connection on some tissue paper and leave it in a warm room for about 24 hours to let the e-liquid dry completely. Trying to use a device with e-liquid on the 510 connection will cause your vape device to short-circuit and eventually break.
Simple maintenance tips
If your box mod has spring-loaded 510 pins and battery connections, make sure they still have some stretch. If they are stuck, there may be dust or other debris stuck inside, which can be cleaned with a little cleaning. Wipe down the slide rails if your battery compartment has a slide-top, so you don’t let gunk and grime ruin your vaping experience.
Conclude
Maintaining a box mod is not a difficult task and only takes a few minutes a day. Personally, I like to use my vape for as long as possible, simply because I like to use the device I like a little longer. Hopefully, you can apply these simple tips to your device, so that the reason you buy a new box mod is not because you accidentally broke your previous one.
