IQOS Mesh - When PMI wants to get closer to vapers

Introduce

IQOS Mesh comes from PMI, a very familiar name to those who have been using IQOS HnB system.

This time, with the intention of getting closer to vapers, IQOS Mesh is designed in the style of a closed pod mod with pre-filled e-liquid caps. Currently, this product is only sold in the UK.

The IQOS Mesh pod uses a mesh coil instead of the ceramic or cotton coils commonly found on pod mods on the market. The mesh wire style is quite popular with self-built vapes because it produces very good smoke and flavor.

The capacity of each pod of IQOS Mesh is about 2ml, the concentration levels are 6mg, 11mg and 18mg.

The current price for the body alone is £19.99, two pods £3.99.

Overall, the IQOS Mesh has a rather long and slightly thick shape. The specific dimensions are 158mm x 18.5mm, weighing 61 grams. If calculated, it is a bit large compared to conventional pod mods.

According to comments from those who have used it, the shape of IQOS Mesh is a bit clumsy, so even though it is not very big, it is difficult to carry in your pocket.

Compensating for the shortcomings in shape, material and processing quality of IQOS Mesh is impeccable. The polished metal body is smooth from top to bottom without any excess joints, the slightly heavy weight creates an extremely comfortable feeling.

How is it?

The vapor from IQOS Mesh is not too stuffy, but not too airy. The smoke from IQOS Mesh is not much but very warm, mainly because of the mesh coil.

The 18mg e-liquid pods give a good throat hit, but the low nicotine pods seem a bit harsh. This is a pretty big minus, because the mesh coil-powered models should create a more stable throat hit.

This pod mod doesn't have any hissing or e-juice shooting, just occasional slight leaks at the contact pins.

The biggest downside of this pod mod is auto-fire. Sometimes the IQOS Mesh will auto-fire, and you have to take the pod out of the device to stop it. I don't know if this is just one device or if it's a design flaw.

It must be said that this pod has a circuit breaker mechanism when it runs out of essential oil. IQOS Mesh is integrated with an essential oil level monitoring system, when the pod is empty, the device will flash a red light to signal. This mechanism helps IQOS Mesh avoid dry hits very effectively.

Battery capacity and usage time

The maximum battery capacity of IQOS Mesh is 900mAh, a normal capacity when compared to similar products. This pod also comes with an LED battery indicator.

The LED light flashes white at 25% battery. When the light turns red, it means you can only take a few more puffs before the device runs out of battery. You can also check the battery level by holding the button for 1 second, if the light flashes fast, it means there is a lot of battery left, if the light flashes slowly, the device is running out of battery.

The LED will flash while charging and turn off when fully charged. You can still vape while the device is charging, which is a very welcome feature.

The charging speed of IQOS Mesh is also quite good. The user manual says it takes about 90 minutes, but in reality it only takes 1 hour and 10 minutes to fully charge the battery.

Advantage:

There are many rich flavored pods (about 7 pieces)

There are three nicotine levels to choose from (6/11/18 mg)

No dry hit

Easy to use

It's okay

High quality workmanship

Disadvantages:

Bad shape

No pod included in the box

Poor throat hit

Easy auto fire

Conclude

The awkward shape and slightly large size are not necessarily serious drawbacks, because IQOS Mesh still has other advantages that make up for these two points.

But the biggest drawback is that auto fire really does not allow IQOS Mesh to become an ideal choice for new vapers. Maybe in the future, IPM will edit the design of IQOS Mesh and fix the auto fire error, but until then, IQOS Mesh is only for reference.
