I once posted an article about civilized vaping. Every time there are new comments, I still read that article again. I still see many diverse opinions below. Especially, there are many people who "argue" that we do not need to limit the use in public places like cigarettes, because vape vapor is not as harmful as cigarette smoke? So boring! I have (and I still do) affirmed that we should not use vapes in places where smoking is prohibited.
It is true that anyone who uses and understands vape correctly will clearly see that the ingredients and operating mechanisms of the two types are completely different:
- On one side is pure tobacco, people directly absorb nicotine, tar,.. and a bunch of other chemicals through the combustion process. The press keeps talking about how people who inhale cigarette smoke will one day get heart disease, lung disease and even cancer just like smokers.
- On the other hand, vape contains fewer chemicals that can cause disease. Vape vapor is also created through the process of heating essential oils, so it has almost no effect on the health of people around. There is evidence, research from many health organizations, such as Bupa, also proves that vape vapor does not affect passive vape users.
So OK, it's true that vape smoke is completely different from traditional cigarette smoke, guys.
BUT: Just because it is less harmful, it does not mean you can use it however you want, anywhere. People who do not use it rarely pay attention to information like the above, not to mention that the press also has many negative voices about e-cigarettes. People feel that the smoke is affecting them, they are uncomfortable. Basically, if you do not use it, having smoke blown into your face will be very uncomfortable. Using vape in an uncivilized way in public, blowing smoke everywhere and hoping that society will automatically understand and tolerate you is an impossible demand. We need to use it more civilly, and gradually speak up more so that the community understands. Wherever there is "No Smoking", we should also "No Vaping", showing civility and politeness.
