What is RTA?

RTA (Rebuildable Tank Atomizer) is a type of vape chamber that combines the convenience of a tank (essential oil chamber) and the customization of an RDA (Rebuildable Dripping Atomizer).

1. Structure of RTA:
RTA has a basic structure including the following main components:

-Deck: Is where the coil and cotton are installed, similar to RDA. The RTA deck is usually located below or in the middle of the e-liquid chamber.

-Tank (essential oil chamber): Contains a large amount of essential oil, helping users not have to drop essential oil frequently like RDA.

-Chimney: Connects the deck and drip tip, leading steam to the suction mouth.

-Airflow: The air vent system regulates the amount of air entering the coil, usually located at the bottom or side of the combustion chamber.

-Drip Tip: The suction mouth where the user holds the tip.

2. Characteristics of RTA:

-Essential oil chamber: Can store 2-6ml of essential oil depending on the design, suitable for mobile users.

-Highly customizable: Allows users to wrap their own coils and place cotton to adjust flavor and smoke volume.

- Wicking system: Requires precise cotton placement to avoid dry hits or essential oil leakage.

3. Advantages of RTA:

-More convenient than RDA: No need to continuously drip essential oils, thanks to the tank.

-Customize flavor: Users can build their own coils to adjust strength, flavor, and smoke volume.

-Long-term cost savings: Just replace cotton and wind the coil, no need to buy stock coil like other devices.

-Variety of experiences: Suitable for both MTL (Mouth-to-Lung) and DTL (Direct-to-Lung) thanks to the ability to customize airflow and coil.

4. Disadvantages of RTA:

-More complicated setup: Proper coil wrapping and cotton placement is a must to ensure performance, avoid leaks or dry hits.

-Difficult to maintain: Compared to stock coil devices, RTA requires users to disassemble and clean more frequently.

-Essential oil leakage: If the cotton is not placed properly or the chamber is not tightened enough, essential oil may leak.

5. RTA users:

RTA is typically intended for:

-People who have experience in vaping, familiar with building coils themselves.

-Users enjoy rich flavor experiences and customizable smoke output.

-People need a device with a large essential oil chamber for continuous use without having to drop essential oil many times.

6. Compare RTA with other types of combustion chambers:

Characteristic RTA RDA Sub-ohm Tank
Coil customization Yes (Rebuildable) Yes (Rebuildable) No (Stock coil)
Essential oil chamber Have Are not Have
Flavor Good (depending on setup) Very good (direct dripping) Good but inferior to RDA and RTA
Convenience Medium Short High

7. Some prominent RTAs on the market:

-GeekVape Zeus X RTA : Leak-proof airflow system, suitable for both newbies and experienced users.

- Vandy Vape Kylin Mini RTA: Single coil deck design, easy to build and rich flavor.

- Hellvape Destiny RTA : Bottom airflow, good flavor and easy to use.

Conclude:

RTA is an ideal choice for those who want to enjoy good flavor and customizable vapor without having to constantly drip e-juice like RDA. However, using RTA requires some experience in building coils and placing cotton properly to avoid problems such as leaking or burning. This is a suitable device for those who want to take their vaping experience to the next level.
