How to clean the burner?
One of the things you have experienced when using a tank , clearomizer or AIO machine is that when you change the flavor of the essential oil , you can still feel the taste of the old essential oil mixed with the new essential oil.
Even if you change the coil, the old e-liquid flavor can still linger in the atomizer , especially strong flavors like tobacco, coffee, mint, cinnamon and other heavy flavors like melon, grape and licorice. Imagine vaping grape with coffee, not so good right?
Don’t worry. In this guide, we’ll show you how to get rid of this problem once and for all. Luckily, most tanks are pretty easy to clean if you do it right. We’ll show you how to do it from the simplest to the most complicated.
1. Rinse with water
This is the simplest and most common way to clean the atomizer. First, you have to disassemble the tank into separate parts, you should also remove the rubber gasket, which is where the most essential oil sticks. Be careful not to lose them.
Note: If you are using a device with a pre-made coil head, you will need to disassemble the coil before cleaning. If the coil head is still usable, then go ahead and use it, but to truly remove the old e-liquid smell, you will definitely need to replace the coil head completely.
Fill a bowl with water and place it in the microwave for about two minutes. Meanwhile, rinse the parts with cold water, then remove the bowl from the microwave and place the tank parts in it.
Soak the parts in the bowl until the water cools, then rinse the tank again with cold water. Gently dry the tank with a paper towel, leaving the burner in place until it is completely dry. You can also use a hair dryer to speed up the process, but too much heat can damage the rubber gasket.
Note: You can also use a small brush to clean the tank surface. A child's toothbrush will do the trick.
2. Soak with PG or VG solution
If you don’t want to just use water, you can soak your atomizer in PG. Just fill a bowl with unflavored PG and soak your atomizer in it. You can also use VG, but it will be harder to clean your tank because VG is very concentrated.
Once the tank has been soaked in PG solution for a long enough time, place it on a clean towel and let it dry. This is the best way to remove any residual e-liquid taste from the atomizer.
3. Vinegar, baking soda and alcohol
You can replace PG/VG with some items available in your home.
Vinegar is a good cleaner but needs to be rinsed off thoroughly to avoid leaving a sour smell.
Baking soda is also a good cleaning agent to get your burners sparkling again.
Ethanol, or rubbing alcohol, is also a very effective cleaning solution. You can buy a large can of Ethanol at any liquor store.
Some vapers like to use dish soap or lemon juice with water to clean their atomizers. As long as you rinse thoroughly with water, these substances are effective cleaners for your atomizer.
4. Ultrasonic cleaning machine
If you want to clean your tank as thoroughly as possible, you'll need a tank cleaner, which is typically used to clean jewelry and precious stones, but is now used by vapers to clean their atomizers.
You don't necessarily need a vape cleaner, but if you own too many and don't have time to wash them one by one manually, this is a good option.
5. Throw away the old coils
If you’ve tried all of the above and still can’t get rid of the old taste, it’s time to replace that coil. If you’re tired of buying coils, you can learn how to roll your own. Just go through step one, swap out your coil, and you’re good to go.
If you are using a self-rolled coil, don’t throw it away just yet. Remove the old cotton, burn off any remaining e-liquid, and wash it. A brush can help you clean your coil.
Conclude
There are many effective ways to clean an old tank, depending on how clean you want it and how much time you have. An ultrasonic cleaner works quickly but takes time. Vinegar, baking soda and dish soap work well, and sometimes just rinsing the tank with water is enough.
