Vape coil, note when cleaning.

Note on cleaning vape coils

During the process of using any type of vape device, you need regular maintenance and servicing to ensure the product's longevity. You can take the machine and the burner to the store for inspection and maintenance, but what about the cotton and coil? These are also two parts that need regular care to ensure the smoothest use.

And in today's article, The Vape Club will guide you through the steps so you can maintain and replace coils and cotton at home without having to go to the store.

Why should vape coils be cleaned regularly?

During use, essential oils, especially those containing large amounts of VG (thicker), will become sooty, stick to the cotton and coil, making it more difficult for the cotton to absorb the essential oil and heat up. This not only reduces the lifespan of the coil, but also causes many other problems such as making the essential oil lose its flavor, not producing much smoke, and worse, it can cause the cotton to blacken and the coil to burn.

Soot is not the only reason why you need to clean the coil and change cotton, there are other reasons too.

First of all, vaping at high power and frequently will cause the essential oil in the cotton to dry faster, especially with RDA. Long periods of lack of maintenance will cause the coil to turn black and burn the cotton.

When using an RTA, every time you change the e-liquid, you not only have to clean the combustion chamber to remove the taste and smell of the old e-liquid, you also need to clean the coil and replace the cotton. Do you know what the consequences of skipping this step are? The two e-liquid flavors will mix together, if the two flavors are compatible, it's okay, but if the two flavors are opposite, it's terrible.

In all of the above cases, you can solve it by simply cleaning or replacing the coil and cotton. In the third case, you need to clean the entire combustion chamber. The best time to replace the cotton is three days after use, and in the case of the coil, about three weeks.

Steps to follow

Step 1: Take out the old cotton, check if the old cotton is burnt and see why. If the cotton is too tight, reduce the cotton core. If the cotton is crumbly, reduce the power the next time you use it.

Step two: Start the machine at moderate power, let the coil slowly heat up, when the coil is bright red, immediately dip it in cold water to remove the residue. This will clean the residue on the coil, this step will also wear out the coil. If you remember to clean it regularly, you only need to do this step once, so in the long run the coil will be durable.

The coil is clean, press the heat to dry the coil. Observe whether the coil heats up evenly on both sides, is it red from the inside out, is the color even between the rings and the color even between the 2 coils. If not, use the ceramic clamp to adjust it. In case the vape coil is unevenly lit, squeeze the brighter side or tighten the screw, if the coil rings are not even, use the pointed tip of the ceramic clamp to pry the rings apart and then squeeze again.

As for cleaning the burner, you just need to wash the burner with warm water. If you previously used essential oils with strong odors such as candy, coffee, cinnamon... You can soak them in lemon juice or soda to remove the smell. After washing, you just need to dry the burner with a clean towel and it can be used.
