The most recent study that confirms that e-cigarettes are safer than cigarettes was conducted in North America and posted on the social network Research Gate.
The study confirmed that vaping has “a powerful beneficial effect for people who might switch from smoking.” The researchers came to this conclusion by looking at long-term vapers to understand how e-cigarettes affected them. Professor Robert L. Cranfield, who led the study, and his team found that 96% of the study participants showed signs of improved health after switching from smoking to vaping.
The researchers collected data by distributing questionnaires through social media groups and surveys through e-cigarette shops , collecting 573 survey results in both ways. They had three main categories to look at: former smokers who did not feel the negative effects of smoking, people who had used e-cigarettes for more than three years, and vapers who had never smoked.
Switching from smoking has many obvious health effects.
According to the study summary, 108 participants had used e-cigarettes for over 3 years. They had an average of 1.78 percent of side effects when smoking. While using e-cigarettes, they admitted that the side effect rate was only 0.07 percent per person. This represents a more positive change in terms of health.
Research Summary
The study was published in the journal in October 2016, but it has only recently received more attention thanks to being published in prestigious research communities such as Google Scholar.
